Undergraduates
Each year we employ a number of undergraduates on supervised work placements. Undergraduates on placement with Michael Dyson Associates Ltd are provided with continuous development opportunities with an emphasis on site based learning, supplemented with individual and group based training throughout the placement.
This year sees six undergraduates commence their year out placements with Michael Dyson Associates Ltd.
Niall Christie & Jay James are currently studying Architectural Technology at Nottingham Trent University and have recently joined Michael Dyson Associates Ltd on a 12 month placement before returning to complete their final year of study in September 2012. They are both employed within our Design Team where his duties include of construction drawings, site surveying and measurement, 3 dimensional modeling and production of video walkthroughs for presentation purposes.
Richard Mitchell & Oliver Pleyer are both studying Building Surveying at Sheffield Hallam University. They joined the company for their year out placements before returning to University in September 2012. Richard is employed as an Assistant Fieldwork Manager within the Surveying Unit. He is involved in a variety of surveys including stock condition, measured, energy and HHSRS alongside management of a team of external fieldworkers.
Oliver is employed within the Engineering unit as a Project Assistant, where he is primarily involved in the survey of non-traditional properties, external renovation scheme management and the inspection and reinstatement of non-traditional properties for both public and private owners.
Kyle Oxley is studying Building Surveying at Leeds Metropolitan University. He joined us in July 2011 for his year out placement. Kyle is employed as Assistant Fieldwork Manager within the Surveying Unit. His duties include validation and completion of stock condition surveys, decent homes, HHSRS and measured surveys alongside management of a team of external fieldworkers.
Jordan Simpson joined Michael Dyson Associates Ltd in August 2011 on a 12 month placement; He is currently studying Building Surveying at Nottingham Trent University. Jordan is employed as an Assistant Fieldwork Manager within the surveying unit. His role includes carrying out stock condition surveys, validation surveys and he also manages a team of external fieldworkers helping to ensure the works progress runs smoothly
