Procurement Route Advice
The routes to successfully procuring a contractor or other service provider are many and varied. Traditional approaches rely on established forms of contract published by various governing bodies such as the Joint Contracts Tribunal or the Construction Clients Board. More innovative approaches include Service Level Agreements and the development of Partnerships.
We have expertise in procuring construction works on behalf of Local Authorities, ALMOs and Registered Providers of Social Housing, with an extensive track record in managing bids and competitions within the JCT, NEC and PPC environments creating the documents, managing the workshops and interviews and assessing offers in an open, transparent and auditable way to ensure the ethos of best value sits at the heart of the procurement process.
The choice of procurement route will be influenced by the nature of our client, the type of work being procured and the degree of collaboration and risk sharing required with the successful bidder. However the main driver will always be the preferences of our Clients, be these for a formally structured and heavily documented framework of contracts to a simple Schedule of Works with drawings. Michael Dyson Associates Ltd will work with you to ensure your aspirations are met.
We recognise that many of our clients wish to involve their residents in the choosing of refurbishment works contractors. We have worked with many resident groups and committees to develop bespoke documents and interview formats, providing training where necessary, in order for residents to become truly empowered and involved with the people who will be spending time in their homes and how the construction process is managed.
