Programming
A construction contract has often been referred to as a “conveyor belt in reverse” whereby the site remains where it is as the processes of administration work pass over it.
A housing construction project may involve the construction of a large number of new dwellings to the refurbishment of a single property but the common feature is one of complexity: setting up, managing health & safety, diversity of trades involved and management of time, cost and quality across the whole of the project.
In meeting the challenge of managing a construction project it is vital to fully understand the links between the various activities and their interdependence in order that they can be programmed for seamless delivery from commencement to completion.
The effective management of time is a fundamental pre-requisite to the management of cost and quality; producing detailed programmes scheduling both primary and subsidiary activity is core to every project we manage.
We use industry standard software to create management and operational programmes which are bespoke to the requirements of the project. As well as producing programmes for our own projects we often assist clients in delivering their own projects, providing programming advice and developing through collaboration specific programmes to meet the client’s needs.
Once a programme has been developed and approved by our client, Michael Dyson Associates Ltd has ISO 9001:2008 systems in place to ensure that the programme is routinely monitored and properly managed through the early identification of risks to completion which result in corrective action or modification.
Thus our clients can be assured their projects will be founded upon fully considered and realistic programmes which will provide the essential platform for good project management.
