Michael Dyson Associates Ltd is delighted to have been appointed by Silva Homes to provide Contract Administration, Procurement , CDM Principal Designer and Design services for the refurbishment of Hambleden and Hurley Courts in Bracknell. This appointment follows on from an earlier commission to provide an options study and cost appraisal for the site.
The six, three storey blocks, which contain seventy-two flats are of non-traditional Siporex Lightweight PRC construction and have a poor thermal performance.
The key focus of the project will be to improve the buildings thermal performance with works to the external envelope including the application of external wall insulation with a rendered finish, installation of new windows and spandrel panels and improved ventilation. Redecoration to communal areas, FRA works and external improvements including new bin stores and storage areas also form part of the works.
To date Michael Dyson Associates Ltd have attended two consultation events for Silva Homes residents and leaseholders and intend to submit the planning application for the works in the next couple of months. The intention is that the works start on site in summer 2023.
